Payments · Alipay & WeChat Pay

Food to Try in Xiamen
- Shacha noodles (沙茶面) — savory peanut-satay broth with toppings.
- Sea oyster omelet (海蛎煎) — crispy-chewy street classic.
- Peanut soup (花生汤) — warm, sweet, light dessert.
- Fish ball soup (鱼丸汤) — clear broth, bouncy fish balls.
Most stalls accept mobile pay; carry small bills as backup.
Transport · Airport → Ferry → Gulangyu
- Choose your departure pier first (3 options + 1 overnight): Dongdu Tourist Pier 东渡客运码头; First Pier 第一码头; Songyu Tourist Pier 嵩屿客运码头; Xiamen Lundu Pier 厦门轮渡码头 (overnight sailings only, ~00:00–06:00).
- Arrival on Gulangyu (2 options): Sanqiutian Pier 三丘田码头; Neicuo’ao Pier 内厝澳码头. Pick the one closest to your hotel/spot.
- Ways to reach the pier: taxi, metro, BRT, or city bus—pick based on your starting point. With heavy luggage, taxi is easiest.
- Airport → Dongdu Pier: ~15 min by taxi if traffic is light; Airport → First Pier: ~25 min by taxi; allow extra time for congestion.
- Ferries run day, night, and overnight with multiple slots per period—pick a time that fits your flight/transfer.
- Buy ferry tickets in advance (especially holidays). Official channels: WeChat & Alipay ferry mini-programs; kiosks are secondary.
